A trio of Christmas greetings using a mix of colourburst and pixie powders to create a vibrant background teamed up with the gorgeous Winter Woodland stamp set from Creative Expressions :D For these cards, the first thing I did was make my backgrounds, now when I know I want a background like this I make sure its the last thing I do that day so that I can leave it to air dry overnight :D I taped my card down using washi (but you don't really need too, as this did encourage the colour to seep back onto the card and make harsh edges, but you might be looking for that effect lol) I then sprayed on lots of water (and I do this between each colour I add too, to make sure that all the powders are activated) and started adding the colours, I used Chartreuse, Lime Green and Turquoise colourburst powders, and then added in some Silver Dream Pixie powder (I LOVE these powders! I only have the silver dream and rich gold, but they are fabulous!! I reckon it would look great to just tap a bit over a traditional watercolour wash and watch the gorgeous mica burst out :D note to self, I must try that lol) :D To try and sop up a bit of the moisture I did sprinkle on some salt, and then I left all three pieces to dry over night :D
Now for all the die-cutting, I decided to be frugal and save on card for these, so I cut the frames from the centre of the backing panel (you can see what I mean in the video below) and then I cut the background piece just slightly bigger than the outside of the frame, that way no one will ever know there's a big hole in the largest white rectangle :D I then used the interiors of the frames to cut my slopes, and for this I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside borders, and I even had enough left over to cut some tiny Sue Wilson snowflake dies too :D I then moved on to all the stamping, these stamps are absolutely gorgeous!! I have wanted them for ages because I love the way they have that distressed look built into them, and I finally have them! YAY :D There'll be another card up in the next week or so using them too, technically they're supposed to be a Christmas prezzie from mum, but she said I could use them for a couple of videos before she wraps them up for me :D Bring on next Christmas and I'll be using them like crazy :D Finally I cut everything out and layered everything together using cosmic shimmer, double sided tape and 3D foam pads to give different dimensions :D And the last finishing touches were some clear sparkle pen and some extra stars in the background using a silver gel pen :D Hope you liked the cards :D
