Pretty Quick Kraft Mash Up :D

As the title suggests, this pair of cards was pretty quick to make lol, and I made them using two Pretty Quick dies that were freebies on two magazines :D The Happy Birthday die was free with issue 22 of Die-Cutting Essentials, and the Floral Panel die was free with Volume 4 of the Die-Cutting Essentials Special Edition :D I brought a pack of the Desert Storm cardstock ages ago, and I did some colour swatches using my Tonic Studios Nuvo creative pens, however I'd still not used any more of the card, or used my swatches as a reference, so I thought why not use them in conjunction with some self-adhesive cork for this card :D

To create the background, I used a Perfect Medium ink pad to stamp watermark impressions around the perimeter of the background, and I even used a foam stamp of one of the roses from the floral panel die, which I had made when making the cards for the DCE Vol 4 magazine :D I also cut both panel dies from the Desert Storm (as well as the background panel) and I coloured them using my Nuvo pens (using my previously made swatches as a guide to the colours I wanted) :D I cut down a piece of the self-adhesive cork so that it would cover just the words on the happy birthday die, and I cut that twice to give me the sentiment for both cards :D For the final finishing touches and to tie the white card base into the design, I splashed on some white acrylic paint, added some white details to the die-cuts using a white gel pen, and scattered on some pre-made gloss white nuvo drops too :D Hope you liked the cards, I'm not sure that I'm that keen on them, but I'm sure someone will like them :D Oh yes, you've probably noticed in my videos that I now have a Platinum machine, well if you're a fan of intricate dies like these two, this really is the machine to have!! As when I was making the cards for the magazine, I was using my Cuttlebug to cut the Floral Panel die (as I didn't have my Platinum then) and it took me about 10 passes through the Cuttlebug rotating the die, using shims and all sorts to get a clean die-cut, and as you saw in the video, one pass through the Platinum and it was cut perfectly!!! :D I think the Platinum is the best die-cutting machine ever!! :D

Ultimate Crafts Loose Watercolour Trio :D

A trio of loose watercolour cards using a mixture of Distress Inks and Pixie Powders along with the phenomenal Ultimate Crafts A4 stamp set free with issue 41 of Creative Stamping :D This is a really easy way to achieve this look, simply use a stamp positioning tool (so that you can line the images up exactly, if you're not too fussed, you can just use an acrylic block :D) and stamp first using some Distress Inks, then spray with lots of water to get the colour moving, adding in some Pixie Powders for a touch of luxury, then once it's dry, stamp the image in black directly over the top along with a sentiment :D Then to finish the card simply over stamp the sentiment in the background using a coordinating color of ink, and add some coordinating Nuvo Crystal Drops too :D

Watercolouring with Nuvo Embellishment Mousse :D

A quick and simple Mother's Day card using Tonic Studio's Nuvo Embellishment Mousse :D This was the card I made for our Dog Lilly to give to Mum for Mother's Day, I thought the Lily images were appropriate :D All I did was stamp my images using some Archival ink, then I simply watered down a tiny amount of the mousse and used it to watercolour in my images :D I mixed the blue and green together to give a slightly darker shade of green in places, and I mixed all three colours together to create a rough brown colour for the pollen as well :D If you don't like that the mica in the mousse covers the black lines, you can always add clear heat embossing over your stamping to prevent this :D But I didn't mind it too much, and just went back over with a black pen in any places I felt it needed it :D And my final touch was the addition of some pre-made Morning Dew Nuvo Crystal Drops :D Hope you liked the card :D

Spellbinders Splatter Proof Stripy Knitting :D

Another Mother's Day card, this one was actually the one from me to my Mum :D And for this card, I teamed up the Seth Apter Splatter Proof die with the Stylish Script and Arty Background Clear Stamps from Creative Expressions and also some of the free Handmade with Love stamps from Creative Stamping issue 40 :D

I started by ink blending some Cracked Pistachio Ink, I then used the waste from the Splatter Proof Die to add some pink splatters using some Picked Raspberry Distress Ink and a mini ink blending tool :D I then used a couple of Ombre Ink pads to build up layers of stamping using a mixture of Creative Expressions clear stamp sets :D For my focal sentiment, I combined the 'Happy' word from the Creative Expressions Stylish Script stamp set, along with the 'Mother's Day' from the Lawn Fawn Plan on it Holidays stamp set :D I used the knitting and ball of wool stamps from the Handmade with Love stamp set (I just had to use these, as my Mum is an avid knitter, she's always knitting :D) And once I'd stamped, coloured and cut these out, I felt like there needed to be something behind them to make them stand out more, so instead of just using the Splatter Proof die, cut from white, like I had originally planned, I added a piece of vellum behind the middle of the Splatter Proof die cut to give the elements something to sit on :D The finishing touches were a sprinkling of clear sequins and some sparkle pen :D Hope you liked the card! Mum loved it :D

Happy Birthday Dad :D

A birthday card for my Dad, whose Birthday it is today, he was unlucky this year, he had to share his Birthday with Mother's Day lol :D For this card, I started with ink blending my background, and I was quite heavy handed with the application to get a nice saturated colour :D I used Spiced Marmalade, Carved Pumpkin and Candied Apple Distress inks :D I then cut the Spellbinders Symmetry in Space die from some white card, and layered this on top :D My Dad is basically an odd job man for everyone who lives down our road lol, so I just had to make his Birthday card tool related (although I'm pretty sure his tools have never looked this neat lol) For all the Tool images, I used the Handmade with Love A4 stamp set free with issue 40 of Creative Stamping, and I used my usual favourite combination of the Lawn Fawn Jet black ink along with ProMarkes to colour them in :D and then finally to create my peg board, I used two stitched rectangle dies to create the frame, and then I used some of the Apple Blossom Embroidery/Stitching card (from CraftStash, link below) to give the peg board look :D Hope you liked the card! Dad loved it, although he did point out that I hung the saw up the wrong way lol, trust him to spot that!! :D
