Positive and Negative Fern Leaf :D

Two cards for the price of one :D A simple masking technique using the gorgeous Fern Leaf die from Tonic and two lovely colours of the fantastic Nuvo Embellishment Mousse too :D The Nuvo Mousse colours I used are called Peony Pink and Lemon Sorbet :D I love these two colours together, and when you overlap them you get this gorgeous peachy colour too :D

So for this pair of cards, I started by die-cutting about 7 of the Fern Leaf die from Tonic Studios out of white card, then I turned them all over and sprayed some temporary adhesive onto the back :D I then stuck them in a nice pattern on a piece of white card, and I used some cut and dry foam to blend both colours of the mousse over the fern leaves :D I had no idea if this would work at this point, the end result of the two cards is what I was planning for, but you never know because sometimes temporary adhesive can stick stronger than you think it will, but it worked out brilliantly in the end, and I will definitely be trying this again :D Once I had finished blending the mousse over the top I peeled off the fern leaf die-cuts and added them to another piece of white card, and voila two cards for the effort of one lol :D The finishing touches were then the Enjoy Today Tonic sentiment die, and to make this pop a bit more off of the background, I added in a piece of vellum behind this, and I used one of the smaller scalloped rectangles from the Harrop Layering Card Blanks dies set, also from Tonic :D Hope you liked the card!! Thank you so much to Tonic Studios for sending me the majority of the products used in this video :D :D :D

Falling For You Forest Fox :D

A sparkly Autumnal Valentine's Day card using a bunch of different dies from Spellbinders along with some Cosmic Shimmer Polished Silk Glitter and some Morning Dew Tonic Nuvo Crystal Drops :D I had this idea ages ago when I made the card 'Happy Birthday Forest Fox' as soon as I saw the waste from die-cutting the fox for that card, I thought, that would make a gorgeous aperture!! So this card was born (well, the idea was written down, and it's taken me till now to get round to making it lol) When die-cutting the fox aperture, you want to cut each of the pieces separately, and you can chose which side you want the tail to be by cutting it from the front or back of your panel (I decided to cut it from the back, as I thought it would look cute being on the left hand side :D) :D

For my background, I ink blended Carved Pumpkin, Candied Apple, Aged Mahogany, Brushed Corduroy and Ground Espresso Distress Inks to create a lovely Autumnal backdrop :D I then used the Brushed Corduroy to stamp the 'Falling for You' stamp (from an Apple Blossom stamp set from CraftStash) all over the background, and I stamped one more in black for my focal sentiment too :D I decided that I wanted the fox aperture to be glittery, so I chose three gold/copper colours of Cosmic Shimmer Polished Silk Glitter and I created an ombre effect :D I took a piece of wide double sided tape and placed it behind the aperture (release paper to the card) then I taped this over the opening with low tack tape, then I positioned the panel onto the centre of the card, and pushed down to attach the adhesive to the ink blended card (that might make more sense if you watch the video below :D) I then applied the lightest colour to the top third, and sprinkled a tiny amount into the second third, then I used the middle colour on that section, then I repeated the process :D

For the embellishments, I die-cut everything from white card, then I used the same coloured Distress Inks as I had for the background to colour them in :D I then assembled everything together using 3D foam tape to raise up the fox aperture, and I added final finishing touches such as doodled borders, white spots to the mushrooms and also some Tonic Studios #nuvo Morning Dew Crystal Drops (I absolutely LOVE using the clear drops on top of leaves or flowers, because it looks just like a drop of dew, which is obviously how they chose the name lol :D) Hope you liked the card :D

Dies I've used:
Spellbinders Woodland Collection - Forest Fox
Spellbinders Woodland Collection - Wreath (the little flowers)
Spellbinders Woodland Collection -  Mushrooms
Spellbinders Woodland Collection - Acorns and Leaves
Spellbinders 5x7 Matting Basics A
Spellbinders Fall Foliage (the tiny little maple leaf :D)

Truly Scrumptious Washy Watercolour :D

A trio of really simple messy watercolour cards using the lovely cake/sweet/flower cart stamp from the Truly Scrumptious A4 stamp set free with issue 39 of Creative Stamping Magazine :D This is such a gorgeous stamp set, and this is actually my third video using it (I think the other two were called 'How've You Bean?' and 'Belated Birthday Wishes' :D), as well as for the five cards I made for the magazine too :D There are so many occasions that this set will be perfect for, it's really one of those must have sets :D I wanted to use all three variations for the cart stamp, so I decided to make a trio of really simple cards, I used three different colour combinations of Gansai Tambi watercolours to create a washy background over my images stamped in black (Ranger Archival, as this is a permanent ink so won't run when you add watercolours over the top :D), then once they were dry, I came back in with some coordinating colours of alcohol markers and added a little bit of solid colour to certain places :D Such a simple idea, but it makes a nice quick and easy card :D Hope you liked them :D

Partially Die-Cut Butterfly :D

A duo of gorgeously bright butterfly cards using the stunning Butterfly Wishes stamp and die set free with issue 20 of Die-Cutting Essentials :D I really love this set, as I'm quite partial to using butterflies on my cards :D For one card I used a partial die-cutting technique, and for the other I used some masking to get the stamping to appear behind the butterfly :D For the colouring of both butterflies I used the Nuvo Creative Pens from #tonicstudios, you can get such a lovely blend with these pens :D Especially when combining the Red, Orange and Yellow sets :D

These are both nice clean and simple cards, and I often struggle with these because I keep wanting to add so many things, but with this gorgeous butterfly stamp, you don't really need to add much else other than a sentiment and some colour :D I think either of these designs would make fabulous note card sets where you could do a rainbow of different colours! (I MUST remember this!) And you could even stamp the 'a note to say...' and then have the other part of the sentiment separately so the recipient could then add that on for whatever card they need :D I hope you liked these really simple cards :D

Happy 6 Months Birthday :D

A bright and cheery butterfly themed card to celebrate the 6 months birthday of my gorgeous little God Daughter :D Using a couple of Spellbinders dies in unusual ways, for example the Spellbinders Becca Feeken loop roll flowers as a weaving die, and the stamen die from the Spellbinders Cherry Blossom set as a cool border too :D The main butterfly die I've used is also by Spellbinders, and it's called Cascading Butterflies, I have to say I think this is one of my favourite dies I've ever brought!! :D

There are quite a few techniques on this card, and you can see them all in the video below, but I'll do my best to remember everything I did lol :D So I started off with ink blending some Distress Ink and I used Scattered Straw, Fossilized Amber and Abandoned Coral (I must remember to use this colour combo more often as I really like it :D). I then inked a Couture Creations Flamingo embossing folder in the same colours, and I embossed the pattern into my ink blended card (not sure how I managed it but in the yellow section, the images of the flamingos are separate to the indents of them lol, bet I couldn't do that again if I tried :D) :D I then cut the cascading butterflies from white card, and I used some Distress Inks and also a pink Brilliance ink pad to blend on some colour to the fall-out butterflies so that they coordinated nicely :D I also did the same with the stamen die, as soon as I got this die set, I had the idea to use the stamen die as a border, and I've only just gotten round to using it lol :D

I then die-cut the large loop roll flower die from white card, and I snipped it in half, I then took one half and snipped this into the separate strips, then used these to weave back through the piece that was all still joined (I think that'll make more sense from watching the video lol) I had seen some weaving dies being demoed on Hochanda, and I was dying to have a go, and then I though oooh, that loopy flower die looked a smidgen like that, maybe that'll work..... and obviously (since I used in on the card lol) it did :D My final finishing touches were my sentiment which is stamped in Butter Bar and Pale Tomato Hero Arts Ink and Lawn Fawn Smitty's ABC's and then I also added a scattering of already made (I like to make some ahead of time so that I don't have to wait for them to dry on my card lol) Gloss White Tonic Studios Nuvo Crystal Drops :D Hope you liked the card :D

Happy Mother's Day Spotty Teapot :D

A bright and bold Mother's Day card using the gorgeous Time for Tea stamp and die set from issue 159 of Simply Cards and Papercraft :D I decided to make the cute little bird into a robin for this card, as we have an old teapot in the garden, and the robins like to make nests in it :D It isn't as lovely as this teapot with lovely red spots lol, but it gave me the idea :D This was a really simple card to create, it just involved a bit of masking to make the bird and flowers appear in front of the teapot :D For the colouring I used a mix of Promarkers, Brushmarkers and Nuvo Creative Pens, all Alcohol based, so they work perfectly together :D And for my finishing accents I used a little bit of clear sparkle pen, and a tiny dot of 3D gloss to go over the robins eye :D Hope you liked the card :D
