There's some brand new additions to the Tonic Kaleidoscope Collection launching tomorrow (5th Feb) evening on Hochanda (UK Shopping Channel) at 6pm!! Two new lid/base dies for a pentagonal shape, and three new sets of designs for the sides too :D I would usually put a 3D project like this on my ArTi PoTeNTiAl channel and blog, but now I've merged them all, I think I'll just merge my blogs too and make it so that I only put the ArTi title sequence on Art Journal layouts etc :D But anyway, back to the kaleidoscope collection :D
For today's project I wanted to combine the wonderful new Mermaid dies from Tonic with the new Kaleidoscope Dies, I was originally thinking a similar idea, but doing it out of browns with brown mousses to give the illusion that the design had been carved into a wooden box, however I didn't have enough brown card lol, so I went for a sea themed colour scheme instead, and I LOVE how it turned out!! I used some of the Mermaid dies to adorn the top of the top and 2 of the 5 sides as well, and then I used the brand new Celebrate panel dies for the remaining 3 sides :D
My favourite addition to this box was adding on some Nuvo Expanding Mousse, I just dabbed some on in a few places, especially around the water on the bottle side panel die, heated it to puff it up, then I came back in with Mother of Pearl Nuvo Embellishment Mousse to pick out the detail, and I think it really looks like the foam you get on a rough sea :D You can see in the video below how I built up the colours of Embellishment Mousse before adding the Expanding Mousse, and you can also see how it all started off as just navy blue card, just with the skeleton of the box and the intricate dies on top! A very simple a cost effective way to get a stunning result :D Hope you enjoyed the video, I have another 2 filmed (in this same sped up style) and I also have a tutorial filmed for how I used the new pointy lid to make a pencil box too (hopefully that'll be up tomorrow :D)
