Christmas Wishes Embellishment Mousse Stamping :D

A pair of cute Christmas cards that have custom backgrounds made by stamping snowflakes cut from funky foam and stamped with Distress Inks along with Nuvo Embellishment Mousse :D Paired with the gorgeous little penguins from the Winter Wonderland gift that came free with issue 140 of Papercraft Essentials :D

So I had this idea to try stamping with Embellishment mousse, I'm not sure if it's been done before, but I've never seen it lol, and I was inspired by the card I made a while back called 'Merry Christmas Polar Bear' back in September :D And I thought doing a similar background but incorporating different snowflake dies and using a mix of Distress inks and pearly embellishment mousse stamping would work perfectly :D It's really easy to stamp with the mousse, all you need to do is squish some out onto your glass mat with a pallet knife and then add a little bit of water, flatten the mix out and 'ink' up your stamp :D I also decided to try adding some Distress re-inker (in Peacock Feathers) to the mousse to deepen the colour and it worked! (there'll be another video up soon doing the same with the Spring Green Mousse and Twisted Citron Distress re-inker :D) Finally I added even more water to the mousse and used a paint brush to flick it over the background (this looks fab!!) :D For the stamping I used Broken China, Peacock Feathers and Cracked Pistachio Distress Inks, and then Aquamarine Embellishment mousse :D (Every time I type Aquamarine I get the Aquamarina song in my head from the end of Stingray lol)

I added a smaller stitched rectangle of the silver foiled snowflake vellum from Crafters Companion over the top, just to mute down the background a little, then I added my penguins :D I used my Nuvo Creative Pens for all the colouring, I wasn't sure how well the Stormy Greys would work with the penguins as I usually use my Cool Grey ProMarkers, but they're fab :D My final finishing touches were the sentiment (from Lawn Fawn Sprinkled With Joy), a 'Hello' speech bubble and also some Silver Moondust Nuvo Glitter Drops :D Hope you liked the cards :D
